Indonesian Amateur Radio Service Changes


On August 31, 2009, The Minister of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia has issued a new regulation pertaining to Amateur Radio service, called PERMEN33/2009. The highlights of the new regulation are as follows:

Siaga class (YD/YG - Novice) is now exempt from any code proficiency while Penggalang class (YC/YF - General) requires only 5 WPM code proficiency and Penegak class (YB/YE - Extra) 8 WPM.

The changes to the power allowance to the amateur radio classes are as follows:

2000 W power limit is allowed with a special permit from the national organization for EME/Dxpedition/Int'l Contest. Under new regulation, the limitation on the number of pieces of equipment owned is removed. The 40m band is now expanded to become 7.0 to 7.2 MHz

In addition to the existing 80m (CW and Voice), Siaga class (YD/YG - Novice) can now operate in:
7.0 to 7.2 MHz including voice (used to be 7.000 to 7.035 CW only)
21.0 to 21.2 MHz (CW and Narrow Band (NB) Data)

28.0 to 28.5 MHz (CW and Narrow Band (NB) Data)
In addition to the existing full 160m, 80m, 40m, 15m, and 10m band privileges, Penggalang class (YC/YF - General) can now operate in:
14.0 to 14.150 MHz including voice
Additional of frequency allocation for Penegak class (YB/YE - Extra).

7.1 to 7.2 MHz voice

The 40m band is now expanded to become 7.0 to 7.2 MHz (CW, Digital, and Voice).

PACIFIC TOUR YT1AD


PACIFIC TOUR ---> Hrane, YT1AD and Miki, YU1DW will be travelling to a few
Pacific islands between 30 September and 8 October as follows:

2-3 October 5W8A (YT1AD) and 5W0DW (YU1DW) Samoa
4-6 October 3D2AD (YT1AD) and 3D2DW (YU1DW) Fiji
6-8 October T30M (YT1AD) and T30W (YU1DW) Western Kiribati

The main reason for this trip is to prepare all necessary documents for the
expedition to T31,ZK3 and FW8 in September-October 2010

OD5F, Lebanon


The Radio Amateurs of Lebanon (RAL) will be operating special event station OD5F for the duration of the 6th Francophone Games, which will be held in Beirut from 27 September to 6 October.

QSLs will be handled by the RAL QSL bureau.

This is a tentative schedule, as actual dates will depend on local . They plan to operate on 160-10 metres with two stations equipped with amplifiers and several antennas.
